Goldey-Beacom leads by nine points at the end of the first quarter.
The Lightning started this postseason matchup by flying off to an 8-0 lead with 8:14 remaining in the opening quarter. Julie McCarron and Rory Ciszkowski would score six of the team’s eight points during that time.
Fast forward to the 2:31 minute mark, where sophomore forward Gaia Zimbardo would get a layup to go to push GBC’s advantage to ten points (17-7).
Goldey-Beacom would score four more points for the rest of the first quarter to head into second with a 21-12 edge.
The Lightning holds an eight-point lead at the end of the first half.
Post would come out in the early minutes of the second quarter with a renewed fire, as the team went on an 8-2 run to cut the deficit to three points (23-20) with 5:46 left in the first half.
Starting at the 4:07 minute mark, GBC would answer back by outscoring the Eagles 12-7 to end the first half with a 35-27 advantage.
Azuri Abraham would serve up some highlights during this stretch, as she scored five of the team’s 12 points.
GBC leads by eight points at the end of the third quarter.
Fast forward to the 7:08 minute mark in the third quarter, where Katie Yoder would make a layup to push the Lightning’s lead to 12 points (41-29).
Then, at the 2:43 minute mark, Janiya Stevens would hit a layup to extend the team’s advantage to 48-35.
Seconds later, Post would punch back by outscoring Goldey-Beacom 10-5 to slice the deficit to 53-45 at the end of the third quarter.

The Eagles would continue to claw back in this game in the early minutes of the fourth quarter, as they went on a 14-7 run to cut the deficit to a one-point lead (60-59) with 4:24 left in the match. Naj White took command of the offense during this stretch, as she scored nine of the team’s 14 points.
GBC would score eight more points for the rest of the fourth quarter to seal a 68-64 upset win over the Post. Six of the eight points came from the free-throw line.
