Goldey-Beacom holds a seven-point lead after the first quarter.
The game started with the Lightning dashing out to a 13-4 advantage with 6:11 remaining in the opening quarter. GBC had the three-pointer working during this time, as Karlee Lemon made two and Julie McCarron drained one.
Fast forward to the 1:11 minute mark, where McCarron would hit another three-point shot to give Goldey-Beacom an 11-point lead (24-13).
Wilmington would punch back by scoring four straight points to slice the deficit to seven points (24-17) at the end of the first quarter.
GBC ends the first half with a 27-point lead.
The Lightning would strike hard in the second quarter, as the team outscored the Wildcats 26-6 to head into halftime with a 50-23 advantage.
Rory Ciszkowski and Janiya Stevens served up the highlights during that stretch, as the duo 12 of the 26 points.
Goldey’s defense also played a part in the lead expanding, with the unit collecting 12 defensive rebounds, two blocks, and one steal.
The Lightning takes a 42-point lead at the end of the third quarter.
GBC would continue to pour on the points after halftime, as the team outscored WilmU 29-14 to end the third quarter with a 79-37 lead.
Rory Ciszkowski, Katie Yoder, and Janiya Stevens were a tough trio for Wilmington to stop in the third, as they scored 16 of the team’s 29 points.
Goldey-Beacom takes home a 92-55 victory!
Despite getting outscored 18-13 in the fourth quarter, the Lightning would still take home a dominating 92-55 win over Wilmington.
