The Delaware State University men’s basketball team earned their 13th win of the season on Saturday with an 85-71 victory over the Norfolk State University Spartans.
Freshman guard Deywilk Tavarez led the team in scoring in the win with 31 points. He also recorded a double-double in victory, as he collected ten assists with his 31 points.
Three other DSU players who scored in double-digits were Senior guard Martaz Robinson (16), sophomore guard Jevin Muniz, and junior Cameron Stitt (11).
Delaware State had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included assists (24-16), turnovers (15-17), and steals (13-4).
The Hornets also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 53.6 %(30-56) and Norfolk State shooting 44.1 %(26-59). Delaware State also bested the Spartans from the three-point line, with the team shooting 45.5% (10-22) and Norfolk State shooting 26.9 %(7-26).
