Blue Hens lead by one point at the end of the first half.
The game started with Northeastern flying off to an 11-2 advantage with 14:49 remaining in the opening half.
Seconds later, Delaware would punch back by outscoring the Huskies 26-16 to grab a 28-27 lead with 5:17 left in the first half.
Niels Lane took command of the offense during this stretch, scoring ten of the team’s 26 points.
UD’s defense also stepped up during this time, as the unit collected seven defensive rebounds, one block, and one steal.
The Blue Hens would score nine more points in the first half to hold a 37-36 advantage at the end of the opening half.
Delaware takes home a 73-67 victory!
Fast forward to the 17:30 minute mark, where Niels Lane would get a layup to go in to push UD’s edge to ten points (48-38).
A minute and 16 seconds later, Northeastern would claw back into this game, as the team went on a 15-7 run to slice the deficit to two points (55-53) with 9:05 remaining in the second half.
The Huskies would continue their comeback as the team outscored the Hens 9-6 in the next couple of minutes to grab a 62-61 lead with 4:06 left in the game.
After losing the lead, the Blue Hens would storm back and go on a 12-5 run to seal a 73-67 victory over Northeastern.
Jyáre Davis and Gerald Drumgoole Jr. would be a tough duo for the Huskies to stop, as they scored eight of the team’s 12 points.
