The Wilmington University softball team swept the Florida Southern College Moccasins on Tuesday with a 5-0 win in Game One and a 9-2 victory in the second match.

Wilmington University leads by three runs at the end of the fifth inning.
Fans of great pitching would have loved the first four innings of this game, as the two starting pitchers would give up a combined six hits, but none of them would find their way home.
That would all change in the fifth inning when the Wildcats scored three runs on three hits and an error to take a 3-0 lead.
Junior outfielder Taylor Gillis would have the scoring highly in this inning, as she hit a three-run triple to give her team a 3-0 edge.
WilmU adds another run in the sixth inning.
The Wildcats would continue to pad their lead in the sixth inning when senior outfielder Isabella Eleazar hit a single to get on first base, but she was advanced to second, and it allowed senior designated player Sara Miller to score on a throwing error from Florida Southern’s left fielder to push her team’s advantage to 4-0.
Wilmington University takes home a 5-0 victory!
WilmU wasn’t done scoring just yet, as Lexi Moore would reach first base on a bunt single, which would send junior outfielder Tristyn Stewart in the seventh inning to seal a 5-0 victory.
Pitching Recap:
Redshirt sophomore pitcher Delani Sheehan would record a complete game shutout in the win, as she went seven innings and gave up eight hits, four walks, and two strikeouts.
