Game One Recap:
Delaware State takes a one-run after two innings of play.
The game opened up with each team’s lineup getting one hit off the opposing pitcher, but neither could push the baserunner home in the first inning.
That would all change in the bottom of the second inning when the Hornets scored one run on two hits to take a 1-0 lead.
Freshman third baseman Annalise Santana would start the inning off by hitting a double to left field. Then, sophomore first baseman Emma Crowe would be up next and slap a double into play, scoring Santana to give her team a 1-0 edge.
DSU’s offense would be quiet after that, and their starting pitcher would handle the Jefferson lineup to seal a 1-0 win.
Pitching Recap:
Freshman starting pitcher Kristin White had her best stuff today, as the Rams lineup had no answers for her, as she went seven innings, gave up four hits, one walk, and struck out five batters.
