Wilmington University earns a Saturday sweep with two wins over New Haven

Wilmington trails by one after the first inning. 

New Haven would start the scoring in game two, as Cole Maucere would start the bottom of the first inning by hitting a solo home run to center field to give his team a 1-0 lead.

WilmU would be up one run after two innings.

Wilmington would respond in the top of the second inning by scoring two runs on one hit to grab a 2-1 edge.

Jack McDonald would start the second off by hitting a solo home run to right field to tie the game at one.

Four plays later, sophomore infielder Tyler Pirrung would score on a passed ball to give the Wildcats a 2-1 lead.

The Wildcats lead by three after five innings.

Three innings later, junior first baseman Tristan Schoendienst would push another two runs through for WilmU when he hit a two-RBI single to center field to extend his team’s advantage 4-1.

Wilmington University takes home a 5-1!

Fast forward to the top of the seventh inning, where Jack McDonald would hit his second homer of the game as he sent a solo jack to left field to seal a 5-1 Wildcats victory.
