Wilmington University leads by 16 points at the end of the first half.
The Wildcats would start the game by jumping out to a 12-5 lead with 16:45 remaining in the opening half. It was raining three-pointers during that stretch as Amiri Stewart, Taalib Holloman, and Caleb Matthews each drained one.
Two minutes and 29 seconds later, WilmU would be up by 11 points (20-9) when Skip Burton had a layup go in at the 14:16 minute mark.
Holy Family would claw back into this game, as in the next eight minutes and 14 seconds, they would pull the deficit to nine points (34-25) with 6:02 left in the first half.
Starting at the 4:25 minute mark, Wilmington would go on a tear by dashing out on a 16-9 run to end the first half with a 50-34 advantage.
Hiram Alexander and Caleb Matthews would serve up some highlights during that stretch, as the duo scored ten of the team’s 16 points.
WilmU takes home a 92-84 victory!
Despite getting outscored 16-12 in the early minutes of the second half, the Wildcats would still hold an 11-point (62-50) lead over the Tigers with 11:33 left in the game.
Fast forward to the 5:13 minute mark, where Amiri Stewart would drain a three-pointer and then follow that up with a layup to give the Cats an 81-69 advantage.
Eighty-seven seconds later, Holy Family would fight back to stay in the match, as the team went on a 12-7 run to slice the lead to seven points (88-81) with 48 seconds remaining in the game.
Wilmington would score four more points to seal a 92-84 victory over the Tigers.
