The Goldey-Beacom College women’s basketball team continues to roll, as the team won their fourth straight game on Tuesday with a 55-53 victory over the Chestnut Hill College Griffins.
Senior forward Janiya Stevens led the team in scoring in the win with 18 points. Stevens also recorded a double-double in the victory, as she collected 10 rebounds with her 18 points.
Two other Goldey-Beacom players who scored in double digits in the win were freshman guard Farrah White (11), and junior guard Julie McCarron (13).
The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (22-14), and bench points (17-9).
Goldey-Beacom also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 39.6%(19-48) and Chestnut Hill shooting 31.7%(19-60). GBC also bested the Griffins from the three-point line, with the team shooting 50.0%(6-12) and Chestnut Hill shooting 41.7%(5-12). The Lightning was also the better team at the free-throw line in this game, as the team shot 100.0%(11-11), and the Griffins shot 62.5%(10-16).
