Fast forward to the 14:09 minute mark in the second half, where Goldey’s Damani Thomas would drain a three-pointer to give his team a nine-point advantage (48-39).
A minute and six seconds later, the Griffins would storm back by going on a 13-3 run to grab a 52-51 lead with 10:09 left in the game. Marshall Baker had the hot hand during this time, scoring nine of the team’s 13 points.
After losing the lead, GBC would punch back by outscoring Chestnut Hill 22-8 to take a 73-60 advantage with 2:30 remaining in the second half. Damani Thomas and Omari Banks were a tough duo for the Griffins to stop during that time, as they scored 13 of the team’s 22 points.
Despite getting outscored 14-8 for the rest of the second half, Goldey-Beacom would hang on to win 81-74.
