The Goldey-Beacom College women’s basketball team earned their third win of the season on Saturday with a 77-69 overtime victory over the Caldwell University Cougars.
Sophomore guard Rory Ciszkowski and Senior forward Janiya Stevens led the team in scoring in the win with 22 points. Stevens also recorded a double-double in the victory, as she collected 11 rebounds with her 22 points.
The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (28-26), points off of turnovers (16-12), bench points (14-10), assists (17-10), turnovers (15-16), blocks (11-4), and steals (9-8).
Goldey-Beacom also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 35.1% (27-77) and Caldwell shooting 29.7%(22-74). The Lightning also bested the Cougars from the three-point line, with the team shooting 41.4%(12-29) and Caldwell shooting 25.0% (5-20).
