The Blue Hens lead by ten points at the end of the first half.
Delaware would start the game by jumping out to a 12-4 lead with 16:27 remaining in the opening half. It was raining threes on this run as Jyáre Davis, Gerald Drumgoole Jr., Niels Lane, and Cavan Reilly each drained one.
Twenty-two seconds later, Towson would answer back by outscoring the Hens 13-7 to cut the deficit to two points (19-17) with 10:23 left in the first half.
UD would not lose the lead, as they fired back by going on a 17-9 run to end the opening half with a 36-26 advantage. Davis, Drumgoole Jr., and Tyler Houser were a hard trio to stop for the Tigers, scoring 12 of the team’s 17 points.
The Blue Hens defense was also strong during this stretch, as the unit collected three blocks, one steal, and nine defensive rebounds.
UD takes home a 74-62 victory!
Fast forward to the 14:14 minute mark in the second half, where Niels Lane would drain a three-pointer to push Delaware’s lead to 14 points (50-36).
Fourty-six seconds later, Towson would claw back into the game by outscoring the Hens 14-7 to slice the deficit to seven points (57-50) with 7:50 left in the second half.
Five minutes and 43 seconds later, Gerald Drumgoole Jr. would make a jump shot to give UD a 71-54 edge with 2:07 remaining in the game.
The Blue Hens would score three more points in the game to seal a 74-62 victory over the Tigers.
