The Wilmington University men’s basketball team snapped their four-game losing streak on Tuesday with an 85-81 victory over the Caldwell University Cougars.
Senior guard Amiri Stewart led the team in scoring in the win with 21 points. He also recorded a double-double in the game, collecting ten rebounds with his 21 points.
Four other Wilmington players who scored in double digits in the win were sophomore guard Skip Burton (15), senior guard Taalib Holloman (14), Graduate student Caleb Matthews (12), and junior center Nalik Veasley (13).
WilmU had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points off of turnovers (28-20), turnovers (13-16), steals (10-6), and blocks (5-3).
The Wildcats were also the better team at the three-point line in this game, as the team shot 37.5%(9-24), and the Caldwell shot 30.0%(6-20).WilmU also had the advantage at the free-throw line, as the team shot 75.9%(22-29), and the Cougars shot 56.5%(13-23).
