The University of Delaware men’s basketball team earned their 14th win of the season on Saturday with an 84-80 victory over the Monmouth University Hawks.
Senior forward Jyáre Davis led the team in scoring in the win with 19 points. He also recorded a double-double in the game, as he had 12 rebounds with his 19 points.
Three other Hens players who scored in double-digits were sophomore guard Cavan Reilly (13), fifth-year guard Christian Ray (13), and Fifth-year guard Jalun Trent (11).
Ray’s 13 points helped the fifth-year player cross the 1,000-point milestone in the victory.
Delaware had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included bench points (23-19), rebounds (39-36), and blocks (7-2).
UD also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 50.9% (28-55) and Monmouth shooting 43.3%(29-67). The Blue Hens also bested the Hawks from the three-point line, with the team shooting 47.6%(10-21) and Monmouth shooting 33.3% (7-21).
