The Blue Hens hold a 15-point lead at the end of the first half.
The game started with Delaware taking a 17-8 lead with 13:43 remaining in the opening half. Cavan Reilly and Niels Lane heated up during that stretch as the duo scored 11 of the team’s 17 points.
Twenty-one seconds later, William & Mary would fire back by dashing out to an 8-0 run to slice the deficit to one point (17-16) with 10:33 left in the first half.
UD would not lose their lead in the first half as they outscored the Tribe 22-8 to head into halftime with a 39-24 edge. Reilly, Gerald Drumgoole Jr., and Christian Ray were a hard trio to stop during this time, as they scored 20 of the team’s 22 points.
The Blue Hens’ defense stepped up during this stretch, as the unit collected two blocks, three steals, and eight defensive rebounds.
The Hens take home an 81-53 victory!
Christian Ray would help Delaware to continue to build their advantage in the first six minutes of the second half, as he scored five points, three defensive rebounds, and had an assist.
Fast forward to the 4:27 minute mark, where Cavan Reilly would drain a three-pointer to push the Hens lead to 77-46.
UD would score four more points for the rest of the second half to seal an 81-53 win over William & Mary.
