The University of Delaware men’s basketball team earned their 13th win of the season on Thursday with an 81-53 victory over the College of William & Mary The Tribe.
Fifth-year guard Christian Ray led the team in scoring in the win with 17 points.
Four other Hens players who scored in double-digits were Graduate Student guard Gerald Drumgoole Jr. (16), sophomore guard Cavan Reilly (16), senior guard Niels Lane (12), and senior forward Jyáre Davis (13).
Delaware had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (48-28), points off of turnovers (15-7), fast-break points (19-4), rebounds (40-37), assists (17-9), turnovers (8-10), blocks (6-1), and steals (6-5).
UD also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 59.6 % (34-57) and William & Mary shooting 32.3 %(21-65). The Blue Hens also bested the Tribe from the three-point line, with the team shooting 40.0 %(8-20) and William & Mary shooting 22.2 % (6-27). Delaware was also the better team at the free-throw line in this game, as the team shot 50.0 %(5-10), and the Tribe shot 41.7 %(5-12).
