Goldey-Beacom pushes winning streak to four with 78-68 victory over Holy Family

Goldey-Beacom leads by eight points at the end of the first half.

The game started with the Lightning striking right away as the team took a 20-4 lead with 10:18 remaining in the opening half. Nazim Derry, Omari Banks, and Zayon Marsh put on a show during that time, as the trio scored 15 of the team’s 20 points.

Seconds later, Holy Family would claw back into the game as the team outscored Goldey 22-14 for the rest of the first half to cut the lead to eight points (34-26).

The Lightning would take home a 78-68 victory!

The Tigers would continue to close the gap in the game as in the early minutes of the second half, the team would roar out on a 9-2 run to slice the deficit to one point (36-35) with 17:02 left in the match.

Fast forward to the 5:47 minute mark, where Zayon Marsh would hit a jump shot to push Goldey-Beacom’s edge to 62-55.

GBC would continue to pour on the points as they scored 16 for the rest of the second half to seal a 78-68 victory over Holy Family. Nazim Derry and Damani Thomas were a hard duo for the Tigers to stop, as they scored 12 of the team’s 16 points.
