The Delaware State University women’s basketball team earned their sixth win of the season on Saturday with a 61-49 victory over the South Carolina State University Bulldogs.
Senior guard Ja’Naiah Perkins-Jackson led the team in scoring in the win with 23 points.
Graduate student guard Denijsha Wilson also scored in double-digits in the game as she scored 11 points.
Delaware State had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points off of turnovers (24-13), fast-break points (13-0), bench points (39-16), rebounds (27-19), assists (12-7), turnovers (21-22), blocks (2-1), and steals (14-12).
The Hornets also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 48.8 % (21-43) and South Carolina State shooting 47.7 %(21-44). Delaware State also bested the Bulldogs from the three-point line, with the team shooting 41.7 % (5-12) and South Carolina State shooting 0.0 %(0-8).
