Davis, Lane, & Drumgoole Jr. combine for 65 points in Blue Hens 90-71 win over North Carolina A&T

The University of Delaware men’s basketball team earned their 12th win of the season on Thursday with a 90-71 victory over the North Carolina University Aggies.

Senior forward Jyáre Davis and senior guard Niels Lane led the team in scoring the win with 22 points. Davis was balanced in both halves for his points, as Lane scored 15 of his 22 points in the second half.

Graduate Student guard Gerald Drumgoole Jr. also scored in double-digits, with 21 points in the victory. Drumgoole Jr. heated up in the second half, scoring 19 of his 21 points during that time.

Fifth-year guard Christian Ray was locked on all the boards all night, collecting 16 rebounds. He also recorded a double-double, as he scored 12 points with his 16 rebounds.

Delaware had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (42-20), points off of turnovers (11-7), second-chance points (13-10), rebounds (45-31), and assists (22-9).

UD also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 50.7 % (34-67) and North Carolina A & T shooting 36.7 %(22-60). The Blue Hens also bested the Aggies from the three-point line, with the team shooting 44.0 %(11-25) and North Carolina A &T shooting 39.1 % (9-23).
