Marsh & Thomas combine for 45 points in Goldey-Beacom’s 83-78 win over Wilmington University

The Goldey-Beacom College men’s basketball team earned their 11th win of the season on Tuesday with an 83-78 victory over their in-state rival, the Wilmington University Wildcats.

 Sophomore forward  Zayon Marsh led the team in scoring in the win with 23 points.

Three other Goldey-Beacom players who scored in double digits in the win were senior guard Damani Thomas (22), senior guard Nazim Derry (12), and sophomore forward Caleb Bates (11).

The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points off of turnovers (20-10), second-chance points (16-7), assists (19-16), turnovers (9-16), and steals (5-3).

GBC also bested the Wildcats from the three-point line, with the team shooting 42.9%(12-28) and Wilmington shooting 40.0%(10-25).
