The Goldey-Beacom College men’s basketball team earn their tenth victory over the season on Saturday with an 87-79 win over the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights.
Sophomore forward Zayon Marsh and senior guard Nazim Derry led the team in scoring with 21 points.
Senior guard Damani Thomas also scored in double-digits in the game, as he had 18 points.
The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points off of turnovers (18-15), bench points (16-8), turnovers (17-18), and steals (13-12).
Goldey-Beacom also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 52.7%(29-55) and Bridgeport shooting 43.1%(31-72). The Lightning also bested the Purple Knights from the three-point line, with the team shooting 38.9%(7-18) and Bridgeport shooting 31.6%(6-19). Goldey-Beacom was also the better team at the free-throw line in this game, as the team shot 68.8%(22-32), and the Purple Knights shot 64.7%(11-17).
