Gerald Drumgoole Jr. scores 20 points as Blue Hens earn their 10th win of the season with 68-62 victory over Campbell

Blue Hens trail by three at the end of the first half. 

The game started with Campbell jetting off to a 14-0 lead with 17:09 left in the opening half.

Seconds later, Delaware would fight back, as the team outscored the Fighting Camels 25-11 to tie the game at 25 with 1:47 remaining in the first half. Cavan Reilly and Gerald Drumgoole Jr. lead the offense during the run, as the duo scored 16 of the 25 points.

UD’s defense also was strong during that stretch, as the unit had four steals, four blocks, and 11 defensive rebounds.

Campbell would outscore the Blue Hens for the rest of the first half 6-3 to take a 31-28 lead at halftime.

UD takes home a 68-62 victory!

Fast forward to the 15:48 minute mark, where Camels’ Laurynas Vaistaras drained a jump shot to give his team an 11-point advantage (43-32). 

Delaware would punch back by outscoring Campbell 22-11 to tie the game at 54 with 4:29 left in the second half. Jyáre Davis, Niels Lane, and Gerald Drumgoole Jr. were a hard trio for the Fighting Camels to stop during that run, as they scored 16 of the team’s 22 points.

The Hens’ defense played a key part during that stretch, as the unit had seven defensive rebounds and three steals.

Campbell’s final lead of the game would be at the 2:33 minute mark, where the team would have a three-point edge (62-59), as after that, UD would go on a 9-0 run to seal a 68-62 victory.
