Delaware State holds a six-point lead at the end of the first half.
The game started with the Hornets taking a 5-0 lead with 15:20 left in the opening half. Raymond Somerville contributed to both sides of the ball during this run, as he had one block, one offensive rebound, and scored two points.
Fast forward to the 2:57 minute mark, where Kyle Johnson would hit a jump shot to push DSU’s advantage to ten points (27-17).
Coppin State’s Ryan Archey would slice the lead to six points (27-21) at the end of the first half by hitting back-to-back jumpers.
DSU takes home a 55-53 victory!
After five minutes of play in the second half, Delaware State would hold a point lead (38-29). Martaz Robinson had four points, two steals, and one rebound during that stretch.
Fifty-four seconds later, the Eagles would fly off on an 18-8 run to cut the deficit to one point (47-46) with 5:57 remaining in the game.
The Hornets would score eight more points for the second half to seal a 55-53 victory over Coppin State.
