The University of Delaware women’s basketball team would snap a five-game losing streak on Friday with an 86-73 victory over Northeastern University Howlin Huskies.
Senior forward Chloe Wilson would lead the team in scoring in the win with 21 points. Wilson also recorded a double-double on the night, collecting ten rebounds with her 21 points.
Two other Hens players who scored in double-digits were junior guard Sydney Boone (16), and junior forward Michelle Ojo (15).
UD had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points off of turnovers (22-16), second-chance points (11-5), bench points (37-9), rebounds (40-28), and assists (18-13).
The Blue Hens also bested the Catamounts from the three-point line, with the team shooting 34.6 %(9-26) and Northeastern shooting 33.3 %(8-24). Delaware was also the better team at the free-throw line in this game, as the team shot 90.0 %(27-30), and the Huskies shot 71.4 % (15-21).
