The Goldey-Beacom College men’s basketball team earned their eighth win of the season on Wednesday, as the team beat the Chestnut Hill College Griffins 79-74. The Lightning have now won six of the last eight games.
Sophomore forward Zayon Marsh led the team in scoring in the win with 25 points.
Two other Goldey-Beacom players who scored in double digits in the win were senior guard Ayshion Centeno (19), and senior guard Nazim Derry (15).
The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (44-32), points off of turnovers (17-16), bench points (7-5), turnovers (13-14), and steals (12-8).
Goldey-Beacom also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 45.2%(28-62) and Chestnut Hill shooting 41.5%(27-652). The Lightning was also the better team at the free-throw line in this game, as the team shot 85.7%(18-21), and the Griffins shot 78.6%(11-14).
