Twenty-three seconds later, Jefferson would respond back by outscoring the Wildcats 25-14 to grab a 25-19 advantage with 10:35 left in the first half.
Wilmington would fire back by outscoring the Rams 17-10 for the rest of the opening half to take a 36-35 edge. Caleb Matthews, Kaleb Hedgepeth, and Amiri Stewart were a hard trio to stop during this stretch, as they scored 11 of the team’s 17 points.
WilmU takes home an 80-63 victory!
The intensity of this game would go up a level in the early minutes of the second half, as the lead wouldn’t go beyond four points for either team, but the Wildcats got a six-point lead (56-50) at the 10:24 minute mark when Junior center Nalik Veasley made a lay up.
WilmU would take control of the game when the team went on a 24-13 run to seal an 80-63 victory over the Rams.
