The Wilmington University men’s basketball team pushed their winning streak to four on Wednesday with a hard-fought 92-83 overtime victory over the Queens’ College Knights.
Senior guard Amiri Stewart led the team in scoring in the win with 25 points.
Five other Wilmington who scored in double digits in the win were sophomore guard Skip Burton (13), Senior guard LJ Carter (12), senior guard Taalib Holloman(11), Graduate student Caleb Matthews (11), and junior forward Asher Kemble (10).
Junior center Nalik Veasley was locked on the boards all night, as he collected 11 rebounds in the game.
WilmU had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included bench points (24-16), fast-break points (14-10), points in the paint (60-42), assists (14-9), steals (6-5), and blocks (4-3).
Wilmington University also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 52.9%(37-70) and Queens College shooting 37.7%(29-77). The Wildcats were also the better team at the three-point line in this game, as the team shot 25.0%(4-16), and the Knights shot 11.8%(2-17).
