The Wilmington University men’s basketball team pushed their winning streak to three on Saturday as the team beat the Lock Haven University Bald Eagles 86-80. WilmU has also won five of their last six games and is undefeated at home this season (5-0).
Senior guard Amiri Stewart led the team in scoring in the win with 23 points.
Junior center Nalik Veasley recorded a double-double in the game by collecting 11 rebounds with 13 points.
Three other Wilmington who scored in double digits in the win were senior guard Taalib Holloman (10), Graduate student Caleb Matthews (10), and junior forward Asher Kemble (11).
WilmU had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included bench points (23-22), points in the paint (46-38), points off of turnovers (17-16), and assists (14-11).
Wilmington University also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 55.9%(33-59) and Lock Haven shooting 45.3%(29-64). The Wildcats were also the better team at the three-point line in this game, as the team shot 50.0%(7-14), and the Bald Eagles shot 28.0%(7-25). WilmU also had the advantage at the free-throw line, as the team shot 72.2%(13-18), and Lock Haven shot 62.5%(15-24).
