Tavarez scores 20 points to help Delaware State defeat Virginia-Lynchburg for their fourth straight win

The Delaware State University men’s basketball team continued to roll as their team won their fourth straight game on Thursday night with a 106-73 victory over the Virginia University of Lynchburg Dragons.

Freshman guard Deywilk Tavarez led the team in scoring in the win with 20 points.

Three other DSU players who scored in double-digits were sophomore guard Jevin Muniz(19), senior guard Martaz Robinson (17), and junior forward Wesley Oba (10).

Delaware State had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (70-18), points off of turnovers (21-20), second-chance points (15-5), fast-break points (39-7), bench points (38-13), rebounds (45-19), assists (26-12), and steals (9-5).

DSU also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 62.0 % (44-71) and Virginia University of Lynchburg shooting 40.0 %(26-65).
