The Delaware State University men’s basketball team earned their fifth win of the season with a dominating 105-58 victory on Tuesday over Division III’s Gwynedd Mercy University Griffins.
Senior guard Martaz Robinson led the team in scoring in the win with 23 points.
Two other DSU players who scored in double-digits were sophomore guard Jevin Muniz (13), and junior forward Wesley Oba (13).
Delaware State had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (46-18), points off of turnovers (26-8), second-chance points (13-0), fast-break points (31-6), bench points (47-23), rebounds (46-22), assists (19-10), turnovers (9-17), blocks (2-0), and steals (7-2).
DSU also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 55.9% (38-68) and Gwynedd Mercy shooting 37.7%(23-61). The Hornets were also the better team at the three-point line in this game, as the team shot 44.4%(8-18), and the Griffins shot 34.6%(9-26). Delaware State also outshot Gwynedd Mercy at the free-throw line in this game, as the team shot 67.7%(21-31), and the Griffins shot 50.0%(3-6).
