Four Goldey-Beacom players score in double-digits in 90-66 win over Holy Family

Goldey-Beacom holds an 18-point lead at the end of the first half. 

The game started with the Lightning jumping out to a 16-9 lead with 11:42 remaining in the opening half. Senior guard Damani Thomas, Ayshion Centeno, and Caleb Bates had the hot touch during this stretch, as the trio scored ten of the team’s 16 points.

Goldey-Beacom would outscore Holy Family 25-14 for the rest of the first half to take a 41-23 advantage into halftime. Bates, Zayon Marsh, and Centeno would see the basket clearly during this run, as the trio scored 17 of the team’s 25 points.

GBC’s defense stepped up during this stretch, as the unit collected five defensive rebounds, one block, and four steals.

The Lightning takes home a 90-66 victory!!

Fast forward to the 9:10 minute mark in the second half, where Ayshion Centeno would get a layup to go in to push Goldey’s lead to 18 points (67-49).

Four minutes and 55 seconds later, the Lightning would continue to pour on the points as junior guard Cardin Joubert drained a three-pointer to extend his team’s advantage to 84-56 with 4:55 left in the game.
