The Goldey-Beacom College men’s basketball team earned their fourth win of the season on Wednesday with a dominating 90-66 victory over the Holy Family University Tigers.
Senior guard Ayshion Centeno led the team in scoring with 22 points.
Three other Goldey-Beacom players who scored in double digits in the win were sophomore forward Caleb Bates (18), sophomore forward Zayon Marsh (13), and freshman guard Zakari McQueen(10).
Bates also recorded a double-double in the game, as he collected 11 rebounds with his 18 points.
The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (44-34), points off of turnovers (26-10), second-chance points (14-13), fast-break points (25-6), bench points (35-25), rebounds (39-32), assist (14-9), turnovers (12-20), and steals (12-6).
Goldey-Beacom also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 50.8%(33-65) and Holy Family shooting 43.1%(25-58). The Lightning also bested the Tigers from the three-point line, with the team shooting 40.9%(9-22) and Holy Family shooting 31.6%(6-19). Goldey-Beacom was also the better team at the free-throw line in this game, as the team shot 71.4%(15-21), and the Tigers shot 55.6%(10-18).
