Fast forward to the 6:29 minute mark in the second quarter, Tara Cousins would hit a jump shot to give Delaware a 24-21 lead.
UD would score nine more points in the first half to take a 33-29 edge into halftime.
Delaware leads by 15 at the end of the third quarter.
The University of Delaware came out firing in the third quarter as they outscored the Eagles 23-12 during that time to take a 56-41 advantage into the fourth.
Tara Cousins and Darrionna Howard found the basket with ease during this stretch as they scored 15 of the Blue Hens’ 23 points.
UD takes home a 68-58 victory!
American would strike back in the early minutes of the fourth quarter, as the team went on a 15-4 run to cut the deficit to four points (60-56) with 4:04 left in the game.
Despite the Eagles’ solid efforts, the Hens would hold on to their lead by outscoring American 8-2 to seal a 68-58 victory.
