Four Blue Hens score in double-digits in 68-58 win over American

The University of Delaware women’s basketball team earned their third victory of the season on Wednesday with a 68-58 win over the American University Eagles.

Senior guard Tara Cousins led the Blue Hens in scoring in the win with 23 points.

Three other Hens players who scored in double-digits were junior guard Sydney Boone  (11), freshman forward Darrionna Howard (10), and fifth-year center Klarke Sconiers (10).

UD had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points off of turnovers (22-17), second-chance points (9-6), fast-break points (7-0), bench points (16-15), turnovers (14-20), and steals (9-8).

Delaware also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 40.0 % (26-65) and American shooting 39.3 %( 22-56). The Blue Hens also bested the Eagles from the three-point line, with the team shooting 31.8 %(7-22) and American shooting 14.3 %(2-14).
