The Goldey-Beacom College women’s basketball team earned their first win of the season with a 67-66 victory over the Mercy University Mavericks.
Sophomore guard Rory Ciszkowski led Goldey-Beacom in scoring in the win with 20 points.
Two other Goldey-Beacom players who scored in double digits in the win were freshman guard Katie Yoder (11), and junior guard Jenissa Varela (10).
The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points off of turnovers (18-8), bench points (23-18), assists (14-8), and turnovers (14-19).
The Lightning also bested the Mavericks from the free-throw line, with the team shooting 77.8%(14-18) and Mercy shooting 66.7% (12-18).
