The University of Delaware women’s basketball team earned their second win of the season on Sunday with a 73-66 victory over the University of Vermont Catamounts.
Senior guard Tara Cousins led the Blue Hens in scoring in the win with 22 points.
Two other Hens players who scored in double-digits were senior forward Chloe Wilson(17), and junior guard Sydney Boone (17).
UD had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points off of turnovers (25-10), bench points (12-8), assists (12-11), turnovers (11-18), and steals (9-1).
Delaware also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 44.8 % (26-58) and Vermont shooting 44.0 %( 22-50). The Blue Hens also bested the Catamounts from the three-point line, with the team shooting 42.1 %(8-19) and Vermont shooting 18.8 %(3-16). Delaware was also the better team at the free-throw line in this game, as the team shot 76.5 %(13-17), and the Catamounts shot 70.4 % (19-27.
