Five Goldey-Beacom players score in double-digits in 110-78 win over Kutztown

The Goldey-Beacom College men’s basketball team earned their third win of the season on Tuesday by beating the Kutztown University Bears 110-78.

Senior guard Nazim Derry led the team in scoring in the win with 21 points.

Four other Goldey-Beacom players who scored in double digits in the win were  senior guard Ayshion Centeno(16), freshman guard Zakari McQueen(16),  sophomore forward Caleb Bates (16), and sophomore forward Zayon Marsh (12).

The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (42-32), points off of turnovers (23-11), second-chance points (15-7), fast-break points (22-4), bench points (51-25), rebounds (39-36), assists(22-11), turnovers (13-18), blocks (7-2), and steals (7-5).

Goldey-Beacom also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 55.1% (38-69) and Kutztown shooting 41.7%(30-72). The Lightning also bested the Bears from the three-point line, with the team shooting 56.7%(17-30) and Kutztown shooting 39.1%(9-23).
