The Wilmington University men’s basketball team earned their first win of the season on Sunday as the team defeated the West Chester University Golden Rams 85-79.
Senior guard Taalib Holloman led the Wildcats in scoring in the win with 21 points.
Three other Wilmington who scored in double digits in the win were junior center Nalik Veasley (11), sophomore guard Skip Burton (15), and Graduate student guard Caleb Matthews (12).
WilmU had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included bench points (18-15), turnovers (15-18), assists (19-12), and blocks (5-2).
Wilmington University also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 50.0%(28-56) and West Chester shooting 35.6% (26-73). The Wildcats were also the better team at the three point line in this game, as the team shot 27.3%(3-11), and the Golden Rams shot 16.7% (4-24).
