Blue Hens lead by 18 at the end of the first half.
In the early minutes of the opening half, Goldey-Beacom was hanging with Delaware by only trailing by one point (6-5) at the 17:50 minute mark.
UD would start to roll in the next ten minutes and 17 seconds, as the team outscored the Lightning 28-15 to grab a 34-20 lead with 7:33 left in the first half. Jalun Trent, Christian Ray, Kobe Jerome, and Tyler Houser were on fire during the run, as the four scored 26 of the Hens’ 28 points.
The Blue Hens would score 18 more points in the opening period to push their advantage to 52-34 into halftime. Jerome would be hot from the three-point line during that time, as he drained two shots for six points.
Delaware’s defense also produced during that stretch, as they had one block, five steals, and five defensive rebounds.
Delaware takes home a 101-68 win!
The Hens would continue to have their way with the Lightning defense in the second half as they outscored them 17-6 in the first six minutes and 49 seconds of the period to extend their lead to 69-40. Niels Lane and Christian Ray spearheaded the run, as the two scored eight of the 17 points.
Fast forward to the 5:17 minute mark of the final half, where Cavan Reilly would have a layup go in to expand UD’s advantage to 90-53 over Goldey-Beacom.
The Blue Hens would score 11 more points in the second half to seal a 101-68 victory over the Lightning.
