The Goldey-Beacom men’s soccer team earned their sixth win of the season on Saturday with a 2-1 victory over the Caldwell University Cougars.

Bustos had two shots, one shot at the goal, and scored one goal in the win.
Coimbra had five shots, three shots at the goal, and scored one goal in the game.
Jones allowed one goal in 90 minutes and had five saves in the win.
Goldey-Beacom’s two goals in the first half are enough to seal the victory!
It would not take long for the scoreboard to light up in this match, as the Lightning’s Emanuel Bustos would cut off a pass between two Cougars and rocketed a shot from 20 yards out for a goal to give his team a 1-0 lead at the eight-minute mark.
Ten minutes later, Goldey-Beacom would have the scoring touch once again, as Eduardo Coimbra would win a 50/50 ball at the midfield line and then blasted a goal in from 15 yards out to push the score to 2-0.
Caldwell would finally get on the board three minutes later after GBC’s score, with Alex Spencer finding the back of the net to cut the deficit to 2-1 at the end of the first half.
In the second half, it was all defense as neither team could get a shot to go in the net, but the Lighting would hang on to win 2-1 over the Cougars.
Caldwell outshot Goldey 14-11 in the game.
