The Goldey-Beacom women’s soccer team earned their third win of the season on Saturday with a 2-1 victory over the Post University Eagles.
The standouts in the game for the Lightning were freshman forward Lexy Yeager, senior midfielder Samantha Emmi, junior defender/midfielder Alex Lowry, and junior goalkeeper Jennifer Mejia.
Yeager had two shots, one shot at the goal, and scored one goal in the win.
Emmi had two shots, two shots at the goal, and scored one goal in the game.
Lowry had one shot, one shot at the goal, and one assist in the victory.
Mejia allowed one goal in 90 minutes and had four saves in the win.

The Lightning might have outshot Post 9-3 in the opening period, but the Eagles would get on the scoreboard first, with Amber McGee finding the back of the net to give her team a 1-0 lead.
The Lightning scored two goals in the second half to seal a 2-1 victory!
In the second period, there wasn’t a long wait for a goal, as at the 50th-minute mark, Samantha Emmi blasted a penalty kick inside the left post to tie the game at one.
Twenty-eight minutes later, Goldey Beacom struck again, as Alex Lowry stole the ball from a Post defender and found her teammate Lexy Yeager, who rocketed the ball from 20 yards for the score to seal a 2-1 victory.
