Troy Paul scores two goals in Wilmington University’s 2-0 victory over Chestnut Hill

The Wilmington University men’s soccer team earned their sixth win of the season on Wednesday with a 2-0 victory over the Chestnut Hill College Griffins.

The standouts in the game for the Wildcats were senior forward Leandro Louro da Silva, Graduate student forward Troy Paul,  freshman midfielder Caesar Knapp, freshman goalkeeper Charlie Phillips, and junior goalkeeper Bas Markus.

Louro da Silva had one shot, one shot at the goal, and one assist in the win.

Paul had seven shots, five shots at the goal, and scored twice in the victory.

Knapp had four shots, one shot at the goal, and one assist in the game.

Phillips allowed zero goals in 80 minutes and six seconds and had three saves in the win.

Markus allowed zero goals in nine minutes and 54 seconds and had three saves in the win.

Wilmington would end the first half, leading by one goal.

The Wildcats would outshoot Chestnut Hill 8-2 in the first half of this game, but it was a shot at the 38th minute that would get WilmU on the scoreboard first, as Troy Paul would blast the ball in the net to give his team a 1-0 lead. Leandro Louro da Silva would assist Paul on the scoring play.

Wildcats take home a 2-0 victory!

Wilmington would not wait too long in the second half to add to their lead, as at the 49-minute mark, Troy Paul would score his second goal of the day to push the Cats’ edge to 2-0. Caesar Knapp would assist Paul on the scoring play.
