O’Connor throws 4 touchdowns in Blue Hens 43-17 win over Duquesne

The University of Delaware’s football team earned their fourth victory of the season on Saturday with a 43-17 win over the Duquesne University Dukes.

The offensive standouts in the game for Delaware were junior quarterback Ryan O’Connor, senior running back Marcus Yarns, sophomore wide receiver JoJo Bermudez, Graduate student wide receiver Chandler Harvin, Graduate student wideout Phil Lutz, and Graduate student wide receiver Joshua Youngblood.

O’Connor completed 28 of his 40 passes for 347 yards for three touchdowns and one interception in the win.

Yarns rushed for 42 yards on 11 carries with touchdowns in the game.

Bermudez had seven receptions for 83 yards with one touchdown in the victory.

Harvin had five receptions for 83 yards with one touchdown in the win.

Lutz had four receptions for 56 yards with one touchdown in the game.

Youngblood had one reception for seven yards with one touchdown in the win.

On the defensive side, Graduate student linebacker Jackson Taylor was flying over the field today, as he led the team in tackles with 13. The Blue Hens had two sacks in the victory, which came from senior defensive lineman Jack Hall (1.5), and Graduate student defensive end Chase McGowan (0.5). Delaware also had three interceptions in the win, which came from junior defensive back Ty Davis (1), senior defensive back Nic Ware (1), and junior defensive back Steven Rose Jr. (1).
