The Wilmington University men’s soccer team snapped a four-game losing streak on Saturday when the team defeated the Bloomfield College Bears.
The standouts in the game for the Wildcats were junior forward Sora Noda, senior forward Leandro Louro da Silva, freshman forward Yarek Carnegie, senior midfielder Yohan Kim, Graduate student midfielder Jeremie Briquet , senior defender Max Norden, junior midfielder Jeremie Saint-Marc, junior midfielder Diego Ramirez, senior defender Heejun An, sophomore defender Sebastian Agerschou, and freshman goalkeeper Charlie Phillips.
Noda had one shot, one shot at the goal, and one assist in the game.
Louro da Silva had three shots, two shots at the goal, and scored twice in the win.
Carnegie had three shots, three shots at the goal, and scored once in the victory.
Kim had one shot, and one assist in the game.
Briquet had four shots, two shots at the goal, and scored twice in the win.
Norden had two shots, one shot at the goal, and one assist in the victory.
Saint-Marc had two shots, and two assists in the game.
Ramirez had one shot, and one assist in the win.
An had one assist in the game.
Agerschou had three shots, three shots at the goal, and scored once in the victory.
Phillips allowed zero goals in 90 minutes and had two saves in the game.

The Wildcats would come out the gate aggressively on offense as the crew would fire ten shots off at the Bears’ goal, but none of them fell for a score in the first 23 minutes of the game.
That would all change in the 28th minute when Jeremie Briquet found the back of the net on a penalty kick to give Wilmington a 1-0 lead.
Almost seconds later, Leandro Louro da Silva would blast inside in the box and fire the ball for a score to give his team a 2-0 edge. Jeremie Saint-Marc would assist on Silva’s goal.
Nine minutes later, Jeremie Briquet would score his second goal of the game when he had the ball hit the side netting to push WilmU’s advantage to 3-0. Jeremie Saint-Marc would assist on Briquet’s goal.
WilmU would score three more goals to seal a 6-0 win!
The scoring party would continue for Wilmington in the second half, as at the 51-minute mark, Sebastian Agerschou would make a move on Bloomfield’s goalie close to the goal and knock the ball in for a score to push the lead to 4-0. Max Norden and Diego Ramirez would assist on the scoring play.
Seventeen minutes later, Yarek Carnegie would join in the fun as he rebounded Sora Noda’s missed shot and blasted in the net to extend the Wildcats’ advantage to 5-0.
Leandro Louro da Silva would seal the win, as he would hit his second goal of the game at the 76-minute mark to take the score to 6-0.
