Dayes scores two goals in Wilmington’s 4-0 win over Staten Island

Wilmington takes an early 1-0 lead in the first period

The first goal of the game came at the 14:26 minute mark when Jimena Garcia Risoto found the net from 22 yards out to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead. Rockesha Dayes would assist with Garcia Risoto’s goal.

After that score, neither team could find the net for the rest of the first half.

Wildcats scores three goals in the second period to the seal win

There was not much scoring in the first period, but that would all change in the second half as Wilmington would find the goal multiple times.

At the 46:34 minute mark, the Wildcats would open the scoring up in the second, with Manuela Restrepo finding the net as it extended her team’s lead to 2-0.

Almost two minutes later, WilmU would score again as Rockesha Dayes would drive a goal in with a header to the back post, which expanded her team’s lead to 3-0. Samantha Emmi would assist with Dayes goal.

Wilmington’s final goal came at the 53:31 minute mark, when Dayes would score her second goal of the day to help seal a 4-0 win for her team.

The Wildcats outshot the Dolphins 15-0 in the second period.
