Our 2025-2026 season player review series continues with the Wilmington University men’s basketball team, as the spotlight turns to senior guard Justin Perez.
Perez was fourth on the team in scoring this season, with 11.5 points per game.
The Rhode Island native was one of the targets his teammates looked for when the team needed a basket, as he recorded double-digits in 18 games. He also recorded a 20-point and a 30-point game this year.
Perez’s season-high in points came on the last game of the season in a 90-81 win over Dominican (N.Y.) on February 28th, recording 33 points. He made 10 of his 19 shots, drained six of his 11 attempts from the three-point line, and hit seven of his eight free throw shots in the game.
On the defensive side, opposing players hated to see him coming toward their shot, as he was fourth on the team in blocks, with 0.3 per game. He recorded a season-high of two blocks in three games this year.
Perez averaged 11.5 points per game, 2.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 0.3 blocks in 28 games.
