Our 2025-2026 season player review series continues with the Wilmington University men’s basketball team, as the spotlight turns to sophomore guard Jaylin Horsey.
Horsey was third on the team in scoring this season, with 12.8 points per game.
When the Wildcats needed a bucket in a game, Horsey was right there for a score, recording double-digits in 20 games in the year. He also recorded two games where he scored 20 points.
The Delaware native’s season high in points came on January 24th versus Bridgeport, where he posted 24 points. He made six of his 13 shots, drained four of ten shots from the three-point line, and hit eight of his ten shots from the free-throw line in the game.
Scoring isn’t the only way the William Penn alum makes his mark on the game, as he also finds a way to get his teammates involved, as he was fifth on the team in assists per game with 1.2. He had seven games this season, in which he dished two or more assists. Horsey’s season-high in assists came on November 22nd versus Shippensburg, where he had five assists.
Horsey also made an impact on the defensive side, as he was fourth on the team in steals per game with 1.2. He posted eight games where he swiped two or more steals. He recorded a season-high four steals in two games this year.
The sophomore guard averaged 12.8 points per game, 1.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.2 steals in 24 games.
