Season Review: Wilmington University’s Emma Brown

Our 2024-2025 season player review series continues with the Wilmington University women’s basketball team as the spotlight turns to junior forward Emma Brown.

Brown led the team in scoring this season, with 11.5 points per game.

The WilmU forward was the go-to target when her team needed a bucket, recording double-digits in 15 games. She also had two games where she scored 20 points.

Brown’s season-high in points came on February 17th versus Holy Family, where she scored 22 points. She made seven of her 15 shots and hit eight of her ten free throws in that game.

Scoring is only one part of the Wilmington junior’s skills, as she led the team in rebounding this year with 9.7 per game. She posted 15 games, where she had double-digit numbers in rebounds.

The Delaware native’s scoring and rebounding skills made her a tough player to guard for opposing teams, as she recorded nine double-doubles on the season.

On December 9th against Goldey Beacom, Brown demonstrated just how difficult she was to defend when she was in top form, dominating the game with 22 rebounds and 14 points. She also contributed six steals and two blocks in that impressive performance.

Offense wasn’t the only elite part of her game, as she led the team in steals per game, with 1.4 in the season. The Wildcats’ forward had 11 games where she posted two or more steals. Her season-high in steals was the previously mentioned six on her monster night on December 9th versus Goldey-Beacom.

Opposing shooters did not want to see Brown around when they were lining up for a shot, as she led the team this season in blocks per game with 1.3. The Wilmington, Delaware native recorded ten games this year where she had two or more blocks. Her season-high in blocks came on December 12th versus Millersville, where she had five.

Brown averaged 11.5 points per game, 9.7 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 blocks in 28 games.
