The Goldey-Beacom College softball team earned a split with Wilmington University on Wednesday, with a 3-0 win in the second game and a 3- 1 loss in the first match.

Goldey-Beacom takes home a 3-0 win!

All the runs for the Lightning came in the opening inning, where they scored three runs on three hits and one error to take a 3-0 edge.

Sophomore catcher Bri Cole started the scoring in the inning, as she pushed a run home with a SAC bunt.

On the next play, junior utility player McKenna Frank scored after Senior infielder Rayna Pelcak grounded out to second base.

Two batters later, freshman outfielder Ayri Hansen pushed GBC’s advantage to three with an RBI single up the middle.

Pitching Recap:

Sophomore pitcher Lauren Carbonara earned the win in the game, pitching seven innings, giving up four hits, and hitting two batters.
