The Wilmington University baseball team defeated the Holy Family University Tigers 16-11 on Tuesday for its 20th win of the season.
Senior outfielder Cam Trego made history in this game by hitting for the cycle, marking the first time in the program’s NCAA era.

Wilmington’s big fourth inning gives them a seven-run lead.
The first part of Cam Trego’s historic day started at the bottom of the first when he slapped a homer to right field to tie the game at one.
Two innings later, the Wildcats would trail 3-1, but Trego would tie the game (3-3) up once again, and this time hit a two-run double to the right field line.
Holy Family would regain the lead in the top of the fourth, with a SAC Fly to put the score at 4-3.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, WilmU would score eight runs on five hits, four stolen bases, and three walks.
Junior catcher Brett Walmsley started the scoring party in the inning with a solo home run to left field.
Five plays later, sophomore pitcher/outfielder Zach Frame scored on a wild pitch.
Senior infielder Tyler Pirrung would keep the firepower going by hitting a two-run single to the right side.
Cam Trego continued his hot day by stealing home, which put the Cats up 8-4. He also had a single in this inning.
Walmsley would get another run on the board when he pushed home a baserunner by earning a walk.
Frame came up next and slammed a two-run double to left center to push Wilmington’s lead 11-4.
WilmU takes home a 16-11 win!
In the fifth and seventh innings, Holy Family clawed their way back into this by scoring a combined five runs to cut the deficit to four runs (13-9). The home run ball really helped them during this time as they had two players hit a two-run bomb.
Wilmington would score three more runs in the seventh to expand its advantage to 16-9. Trego completed the cycle in the seventh with a leadoff triple.
The Tigers scored two more runs in the eighth, but WilmU still took home a 16-11 victory.

The Wildcats used six pitchers in the win, including Junior infielder/pitcher Chase Fleming, who went five innings, gave up five hits, six runs, three earned runs, three walks, four strikeouts, one home run, and earned the win.
